Purpose: The company and servers that host the database of our website

WordPress (Automattic company)
Purpose: Content Management System that helps us build the front-end of our website.
Gravatar (Automattic company)
Purpose: Is a “Globally Recognized Avatar” that allows The Cake Mistress to display author profile images for contributors and adds a user-shared avatar to public comments shared on The Cake Mistress.
Personal Data: User-shared image and public profile information. When the user signs up for Gravatar and is logged in to wordpress.com the image they chose as their avatar on their public profile will be displayed on comments and “likes” left on websites they visit.
Users can log-in to Gravatar using their WordPress.com credentials and change the information shared publicly, including changing their Gravatar to a non-personal, non-identifying image.
Purpose: Plugin that saves a backup of our files and database
Personal Data: Will store any personal data that you opted to share with WordPress, locally on our own WordPress site and externally on our private Google Drive. Backup files are purged every two months.
We use the following 3rd party applications and plugins to analyse aggregate website data. This enables us to optimise the function of our website for visitors, improve our content, and serve you better:
Purpose: Collects and analyses website data
All data is purged by Google Analytics every 14 months.
Purpose: Collects and analyses visitor behaviour in aggregate form to improve services and the user experience, diagnose technical issues, and analyse user trends.
Personal Data: Hotjar collects anonymous information regarding your visit to our website. This data includes the parts of our site you visited, date and duration of the visit, device information (type, operating system, screen resolution, language, country, web browser, and anonymised IP address). Data is stored for no more than 365 days. Hotjar is fully GDPR compliant.
You may opt-out from having Hotjar collect your information when visiting The Cake Mistress at any time. Follow the first link below and click ‘Disable Hotjar’, or enable Do Not Track in your browser.
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
We use the following 3rd party applications and plugins to integrate social sharing on our website and enhance the visitor experience:
Purpose: Our email database manager
Personal Data: Your email address, IP address, geolocation, name if supplied, an avatar if you’re a Gravatar user, general location. “Pixels” or “Web Beacons” are used to track email performance and collate email campaign reports.

Purpose: Plugin that assists with email list building
Personal Data: Your email address, and name if supplied. Works in conjunction with MailChimp (see above), therefore your data is stored in the US by MailChimp.

YouTube video Widget (Google)
Purpose: Allows visitors to watch our YouTube channel without leaving our website

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may have to disclose personal information to comply with legal requirements, such as court orders, subpoenas, public authorities and issues of national security.
The Cake Mistress includes links to external websites, including affiliate links, whose privacy policies may be different from ours. If you submit Personal Data to any of those sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies.
GIVEAWAYS, CONTESTS and COMPETITIONS
We may offer giveaways, run contests, competitions and other promotions on The Cake Mistress. Participation is voluntary. Information requested for entry may include personal information.
